Green-Culture-Offensive

In conversation with the publicist Adrienne Goehler

The Ministry of Culture wants to launch a “Green Culture Offensive” for the Saarland. It will kick off with a conference in Saarbrücken’s Pingusson Building for and with creative artists and experts. One of them is the publicist Adrienne Goehler.

The climate crisis is probably the greatest challenge of our time. To preserve our livelihoods, action must be taken in all areas, including the arts and culture. The “Green Culture Offensive” planned by the Saarland Ministry of Culture will start with a conference on May 24 in Saarbrücken’s Pingusson Building.

How does art and culture become more sustainable?

The central questions of the conference are: How can our culture become more sustainable? What contribution can art and culture make to climate protection? And how can we change from being on the fence to being agents of transformation? Various experts will be our guests, who will familiarize you with the current state of the debate on “Green Culture”. The keynote speech will be given by Adrienne Goehler, who has set new standards with her worldwide traveling exhibition “Recommended for Imitation! Expeditions in Aesthetics and Sustainability”.

You’ll also find out how the German Federal Cultural Foundation promotes climate-neutral art projects and why the Minister of State for Culture, Claudia Roth, wants to set up a central contact point for “Green Culture. In the afternoon, there will be various workshops, and the final discussion is intended to find ideas for new alliances.
