The exhibition KUNST:STOFF is not only aimed at visitors interested in art and culture, but also at a broad target group of people of all ages. Every year, more than 400 million tons of plastic are produced worldwide – a total of unimaginable 8.3 billion tons of plastics have been produced so far. Each of us creates a global average of around 0.74kg of waste per day (see sources: aktivaktiv.de / wwf.de). According to the latest studies, plastic has not only been detected in living beings in the deepest sea, but also in the human bloodstream.

The exhibition visualizes the large amounts of plastic that we use every day and that are often left behind as waste in the environment. Contrary to what we know about its environmental impact, global production continues to increase every year. An art exhibition that illuminates this topic from a completely different perspective should change the personal perspective of the viewer and make people more sensitive to personal contact. […]

Swaantje Güntzel addresses the alienated relationship between man and nature. It reveals the inconsistency of our actions and the hypocrisy of our value system and draws attention to the thoughtless exploitation of the environment in the industrialized global economy. […]

Dodi Reifenberg has been making reference to environmentally relevant issues with his projects for some time: Almost all of his works are made of plastic bags. This is intended to draw the viewer’s attention to the tacit acceptance of the damage that plastic waste does to our environment. […]
