Anneli Ketterer

Acre Farmland Decrustation, 2016

Anneli Ketterer elevates the floor beneath our feet to an artistic object and channels the attention to the fundamental meaning of soil to the human existence. Since 2000 the artist develops a technique to fix and decrustate the earth’s original surface. She has named it Decrustate in order to create a visual and haptic as well as an ethic and aesthetic tool of communication.

These earth objects – that are developed world wide speak – their own language. A language which is understood by every human being even in times of the Anthropocene. They surprise through their originality and their actuality in these times of bits and pixels.
