Klaus Fritze

Metadiegese

With a doctorate in genetic engineering, Klaus Fritze crosses the border between art and science. His installations resemble scientific experimental laboratories. In addition to his skepticism about his original field of activity, the decision to become an artist was motivated by his scientific, interdisciplinary approaches to art.

In the spatial installation Metadiegese, 2018, the artist arranges, stacks and towers alarm glasses. In ihnen wachsen Pflanzen unter Ausschluss von Zweitorganismen auf synthetischen Nährmedien.Plants grow in them with the exclusion of two-person organisms on synthetic nutrient media. Through a felt ring instead of the preserving rubber a gas exchange with the environment is possible, so that a hermetic seal of existence is broken open.
