The bridge pier goes back to a construction made by the visionary architect, designer and inventor Buckminster Fuller (1895 \u2013 1983). The pier is connected to the bridge which is held together by bars \u2013 a principle that was developed by Leonardo da Vinci (1452 \u2013 1519) used for bridge construction. Because Leonardo was not only a painter but an imaginative draughtsman.<\/p>\n
