\u00bbUnder Discussion\u00ab is part of a series of site-specific projects that question formal and ecological conditions of land art. “Under Discussion” engages with the “transitional geography” of the Puerto Rican island Vieques. The US army used the island for 60 years as a training site, and after they left, they left behind a landscape marked by bomb craters and a heavily contaminated ecosystem.<\/p>\n

\u00bbUnder Discussion\u00ab is informed by the working concept Land Mark, which unsettles the formal and ecological premises of \u00bbLand Art\u00ab by posing the following questions: In whose interest is land marked, and to what ends? Which marks are deemed worthy of preservation, and which are subject to obliteration?<\/p><\/div>\n
