About the exhibition
<\/strong>The Deutsche K\u00fcnstlerbund <\/span>is glad to announce the<\/span>solo exhibition \u00bbBlendung\u00ab of the artist Nana Petzet<\/a><\/span> . Nana Petzet, who in 2023<\/span> received the HAP Grieshaber-Preis der VG Bild-Kunst,<\/span>enables<\/span> a unique view into her<\/span> new<\/span> artistic reserach<\/span> on<\/span> species<\/span> protection<\/span> in<\/span> this exhibition.<\/span> Her works<\/span> <\/span>are characterized by their intensive examination of the interconnections between<\/span> nature,<\/span> art<\/span> and science.<\/span> As<\/span>. As an artist, she uses<\/span>the<\/span> methods and practices<\/span>of these disciplines and questions them<\/span>in<\/span> innovative ways.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the exhibition \u201cBlendung\u201d Nana Petzet shows \u201ca walk-in publication with an integrated experimental setup\u201d in the rooms of the German Artists\u2019 Association. The installation consists of a cross-room sound work and six intermedia stations that focus on the nocturnal living space. Presented for the first time are the results of a scientific study of the complex effects of artificial light sources on the behavior of nocturnal insects. In close collaboration with the entomologist Timo Zeimet, the artist examined the question of what the loss of night and with it a habitat due to the permanent disruption of human intervention means. As part of the exhibition \u201cDeath in Venice\u201d at the Gallery for Landscape Art in Bad T\u00f6lz, Nana Petzet transformed the light that was originally installed in a parking lot to protect people into an attracting system for insects.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the exhibition “Blendung” Nana Petzet offers an inspiring insight into her multi-layered, artistic approach, in which she uses scientific methods as a tool and basic material at the same time.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
