To avert the climate catastrophe is a cultural question. For this we need a new aesthetic, the aesthetic of global survival. Art that does not limit itself to aestheticizing the problems or painting doomsday scenarios, but uses its communicative abilities to enable society to translate the findings of science into active sustainable action, is the key.<\/p>\n

In der Installation \u201eDer Haus der Atlantiden\u201c (nach einer Architekturzeichnung von Hermann Finsterlin, 1919) wollte ich mehrere Themen zusammenf\u00fchren: einerseits die Utopie von Atlantis als perfekte Zivilisation mitten im Meer. Zum anderen die Verwendung von Plastikm\u00fcll auf poetische Weise f\u00fcr die Konstruktion dieser Utopie-Metapher. As co-curator of the exhibition realised in 2013 at the Memorial da America Latina in S\u00e3o Paulo, it was a great honour and pleasure for me to cooperate with the exhibition examples to follow!expeditions in aesthetics and sustainability.
